An Indian colleague gave me lots of information about the place when we were thinking of going, like most places there are commercialised parts and there are beautiful unspoilt parts.
Apparently they spot tourists a mile off, as opposed to foreigners that are there for some time due to work or other commitments, I was told to always haggle for everything and that even taxi fares were many times inflated at the beginning of a bartering session.
I think temperature wise february should be okay, but don't forget that if there are any storms their drainage system is poor so keep your eye on the weather.
If you hire a moped ensure that it is roadworthy and when you and yours are riding the thing remember that the 'roads', if you can call them that, are often covered with dry soil and / or wind blown sand which makes cornering and stopping a very risky business. Also they work on the principle that biggest is best so if you're crossing a street and see a vehicle coming get out of the way as they won't stop or even slow down or swerve.
Another thing is if any ladies go topless, on the beach or wherever, they will often find groups of locals sitting and staring because it is not part of their culture so locals are obviously inquisitive and, whilst it is mainly harmless there have been occassions where the locals have hassled the lady so that they can touch her body - they have been known to just do this whilst someone is asleep
Despite all the above I was told it is a super place and well worth going and I hope you have a good time
