Apart from putting me through to Prague the first time I rang they sorted out my Vaio without any problem or fuss. The fan had stopped working and it was overheating so I phoned them. The chap that I spoke to took me through a couple of checks just to be absolutely sure that I had identified the problem properly. He then asked me to keep it switched on and test how fast it got hot. He said he would call back between 10am and 12, which he did. He then arranged for a courier to pick it up which they did on Monday. It was redelivered on Friday with a new fan installed plus the BIOS updated for the heck of it.
All F.O.C. so I'm very happy.
A similar thing happened with our Playstation a while ago - it just stopped working, so we phoned them up. In this instance they made a direct swap without any question or fuss.
Sony have a good customer service dept.

My Vaio had an encounter with Mr Jack Daniels, stopping some of the keys from working. I phoned them, they demanded that I install Windows on before they touched it (I had installed Linux). After a discussion I convinced them it was a hardware fault, not software, and the courier came to pick it up. I received it back a few days later. Fantastic service.
Free of charge even though it was not a warranty job, as it was blatantly my fault.
