Re: Gordon got it.
All the political pundits are expressing suprise and regret that there won't be an election contest, but as far as I remember New Labour were quite clear of their intentions at the last General Election. Vote Tony, and you'll get Gordy half way through the term. No real big suprises here.

Re: Gordon got it.
Apparently the Queen's quite keen on the canny Scot, as he's keen to keep the union of the United Kingdom, and doesn't favour anymore devolution.
I just hope he sorts out the fact that Scottish MPs can, and do, vote on issues which only apply to English law, and not Scottish.

Go on Meaty, according to your swing-o-meter, who is going to win then?
It might be worth a bet.

All the polls have the Tories ahead at the moment, but that's very often the case mid term for any government. Come the next election, I think people will vote with their wallets, and if the economy is still strong. Labour will win, but with a much reduced majority. The war will lose them votes to the Liberals, and I predict a poor showing by the Conservatives. Who besides having a fairly charismatic leader, have very little substance, no track record, and very few stated policies which differ greatly from anything New Labour are doing.
(Remember it was I who won an acker fortune, predicting the winner of Big Brother in 2005.)
