Greatly Saddened......

I was greatly saddened to read of the death of Ian Gavin.
Ian Gavin was one of the Doctors at Peel House. He also did some work at the East Lancashire Hospice.
He lost his life yesterday in a road accident and his wife was very badly hurt.
He was a superb GP, and a lovely man. My thoughts go out to his family at this very sad time.

Re: Greatly Saddened......

So sad about this news,I remember Dr Gavin when he first arrived taking over from
Dr Campbell this was at the old surgery next to the chip shop.
When my father was dying in hospital Dr Gavin visited him on several occasions just to
see how he getting on,when my wife gave birth he went with her up to the hospital to
make sure everthing was alright while I stayed at home to look after the other children.
He was working part time recently,it is so sad and will be missed by all who new him.

That is terrible news;never met the chap but a few nursing friends of mine spoke of him very highly.

Re: Greatly Saddened......

He was a lovely man. One of the "old school" of doctors who actually showed that he cared about his patients. He wasn't actually our doctor (as in not named as such) but the way Peel House works meant that my parents or me were seen by him on more than one occasion and he was far nicer to see than some others could be. He always seemed genuinely interested.

dr gavin was my doctor from birth and also continued to practice part time when retired

he was a very decent man indeed

even after working all day when he lived up baxenden anxious mothers would knock on his door asking if he would look at their poorley children and he would do it even though he had just worked all day

rest in peace doctor gavin

i hope the idiot who pulled out infront of him goes to jail , i heard it was a boy racer in his corsa
