Blimey, happy we're off to Menorca, rather than Greece for our hols.

I think soon, the chance of actually being able to spend your Euros there will be slim.

Better off taking stick, stones, or any other weapons. Which can then be bartered in exchange for goods and services.

I'm sure there'll be plenty of locals willing to take them off your hands.

I wonder how many of that lot rioting on the streets of Athens tonight are OAP's? The retirement age in Greece is 58, while that in Germany - who have been making the biggest contribution to the Greek bail-out - is 67. No wonder our Krout cousins are not happy bunnies.

Maybe Accy should twin with Athens.

We could build a panopticon structure on top of t'coppice, and call it the Accyopolis.

I remember when I lived in Hassy a young Italian last used to come in the local, she was a very pretty girl, but she knew it, until one day one of the lads pulled her up for acting a bit snobby and just said remember I've seen your mother lovey

No...it's simple enough. We give 'em a once and final offer...10bn euros cash, to be paid into the Bank of England by friday. Otherwise they can forget about it, in perpituity. Alternatively, we'll take the rest of the marbles off their hands for fifty quid.

If the Greeks default and quit the Euro, they will have some short term benefits. The Drachma will be worth zilch; so their exports will receive a boost. And tourism will go through the roof. On the downside, lots of European banks will take a kicking. Major financial institutions will be replacing the toilet paper in their washrooms with Greek government bonds.

If, there's the contentious word, there was a referendum over Europe, I'm sure most people would vote to not even be in an economic union with the mainland continent now. Nevermind being part of some federal United States of Europe.

Our economy shouldn't be connected to so many fragile countries. Ones that have had civil wars in living memory, and have been run by military dictatorships, or even fascist despots.

Soon, we can look forward to having a country of 75 million join the mix, when Turkey is admitted, and even though the majority of the country is in Asia.

All political parties are too scared to give people a chance to decide our involvement with E.U...because they know as fact what the result would be.
