Re: Greece........................Sink or Swim?

Rioting is never justified but homelessness and hunger make it understandable.

Don't be complacent, be ready for if it happens here...... (again)

Re: Greece........................Sink or Swim?

MargaretR, you've cried wolf and forecast the end of the world so often I've stopped preparing for it! If you're right and it all happens I'll be caught out and blame you!

The inevitable ending to this 'Greek Tragedy' is becoming more obvious as the days go by but the world will survive-'Tomorrow is another day'.

I have never forecast the 'end of the world'
but to the materialistic money grabbers it may well feel like it.

Money is an invention to reward work, and enable easy distribution of food , goods and services.

Local currency systems have been set up in some places, which are out of the reach of B.w.ankers.

There is always barter - just ensure you have plenty of stuff to swap until a new style monetary system is established in your locality.

A moratorium on debt would be nice for all those who have been fleeced by this failing system

If you have (while you still have) a nest egg, stock up on barterable goods - especially non perishable food - there are plenty of folk who already have.

You may not have forecast it but you sometimes make me wish for it!

I was once offered two camels and a goat for my wife but now?

You'd never get a camel in your garden shed....and they stink too much to have them indoors

They spit as well, or so I am told. Mind you if you dry their baba in the sun it can be used as fuel for the fire. Well, I suppose it would make an interesting change from nutty slack.

Re: Greece........................Sink or Swim?

Stink, spit? I wonder if I'd notice any diff.....no, better not go there either.
On the positive side if you can't give them away I might get a whole herd of camels and goats- must book us a holiday, according to MargaretR it might be a good idea to get a taste for camel

Re: Greece........................Sink or Swim?

I buy goats milk instead of cows milk.

Goats have different digestive systems from cows and are 'fussy eaters' (like me )
Whatever they eat ends up in you. Some of the junk fed to cows (think BSE) would not be eaten by a goat.

If I find grass in my milk I'll sue Asda!

Don't goats eat boots, fences, hankies, your hand, anything they can get their teeth into?
Cows milk sounds safer!

Well, I hope the Greeks manage to hang on to their goats, they're going to need them if even a fraction of what I read comes to pass.

The Greek have goats? Perhaps I should hold off booking that holiday- I might get a better deal in Greece in a few weeks!

Re: Greece........................Sink or Swim?

I said a while back-'Be afraid'.
They're running Greece and Italy, that didn't take them long, three more obvious ones lined up then only twelve to go.
