There are some MPs who are glory hunters - they want power for themselves and are ambitious, there are other MPs who are workhorses - these MPs work for individuals in the community trying to do the best for each and everyone that approaches them. I know for a fact that there are many, many people in Hyndburn (many of them on this forum) who he has helped personally. He goes the extra mile for any one in his constituency.
