Gt Harwood Show 2006

Anyone pop over to Harwood and visit the Harwood agricultural show. The weather was a bit of a disappointment but then that life. It looks as if they had a good turn despite the odd heavy shower and hale. I went down for a couple hours and managed to take a few photos and thank god for the beer tent as it was an excellent place to shelter.

If you’re interested then you’ll find the photos in the Members Gallery.

Re: Gt Harwood Show 2006

Thanks for the Pics Len , takes me back to the 50's when I was a young kid , myself and the other kids from the bottom end of Arrod used to make good money, (6d on every 2/6d) selling Show programs outside the Royal to all the folks who used to come over from Blackburn and were heading down to the Showgrounds , the Royal used to have an all day licence and was allways a bit of a blood and thunder place on Show day.
I remember one year when they used to have show jumping and the big attraction was a woman called Pat Smythe , guess she was a big name, a British international in show jumping and she drew a huge crowd
Looking at the photos it seems the surrounding area has become quite built up in recent years,
regards John
