Hallowed ground.

It'll soon be Easter, a Christian festival.

We claim to be a predominantly Christian country, but when was the last time you went to chuch?

Today?

Sunday?

Christmas?

Your wedding?

Your Christening?

I last went in September, where I hypocritically, as an Astheist, read the lesson at a funeral.

So when was the last time you went to church? Will you be going this Easter, on one of the biggest events in the Christian calendar, or just shovelling in chocolate eggs?

Can we still claim to be a Christian country, with congregation figures in such decline?

Re: Hallowed ground.

my last time at church was also at a funeral. I have gone from going to church every week and doing the readings to never attending.... I suppose it's down to questions that I have asked myself... just waiting for the knock on the door from the priest some day!!!

Re: Hallowed ground.

I too used to go to church and Sunday School from infancy until the age of sixteen, when we were given a choice.

I think Sunday Schools are a good idea. Things like morality are discussed, and it's interesting to learn stories from the bible. I even toyed with the idea of becoming a minister until I had my road to Damascus moment and realised I was an Atheist.
