Not offense taken me Yorky cousin! To clarify, I believe Baseball is America's "national game!" Although quite fun to play, I find it more exciting to watch grass grow then watch a whole game!
Sparkologist - On Christmas turkey is served by many. However I believe ham and roast beef are also quite popular. We always have a nice leg of Aussie lamb! Dag, after all that food and me mouth is already watering for Christmas!!
Thanks for the well wishes all! The day was very pleasant 95% of time. Much, much laughter and jocularity. For those wishing to read just a bit of "the dark side" please enjoy the following:
1. Following the opening prayer; Annie to Joshua as he lifts to drink from glass: "you can't drink that till we have the toast, stupid!" 2. A little later: Cindy: "oh this bowl is sticky and gross" Annie: "hmm, sounds like Joshua!" 3. During football game Joshua tackles Annie instead of 2 hand touches her causing injury, 4. Also during football game Joshua 2 hand touched Annie's "breast."
Peace, Hope, Love, and Laughter eh?
Brian

Re: Happy Thanksgiving Accyweb!!
Well my better have is actually over the pond for thanks giving, She's in a little town called Dallas, I've asked her to give my regards to George W if she see's him, especially if he's with Tony. The only good point for me with her being away for a few weeks is it will be wall to wall footy every weekend, she aint much of a footy fan or for that matter she hates any sport.:engsmil: :engsmil: :engsmil: :engsmil:

Hey American dwelling Accywebbers, how will you be celebrating your Thanksgiving? Here's what we do when not travelling to distance parts: We start the day by dressing upo in colonial garb. Cindy and Annie dress the turkey (though NOT in colonial garb), bake pies, and all the other fixins. Joshua and I will gather wood, tend the fire, bring some butternut squash to the neighbors. Then we play a game of 2 hand touch football (American), watch football (Am.), eat, watch more football, eat, watch some movies, oh yeah, and eat.
Accywebbers, feel free to join in with this tradition. It's a nice one!
CHEERS!

Now, now - don't be so cheeky.
On a slight digresion, a few days ago a wooden boat moored up at one of the old docks close to me . This boat is a full-scale replica of the Discovery, which was one of three ships involved in the Jamestown settlements of 1609, which preceeded the Pilgrim Fathers and Thanks Giving day by about 12 years. Unfortunatly, those earlier settlers did not survive - I think most of 'em were eaten by injuns. So I just wonder - do the Mohawks and the Apache have a different item on the menu on thanksgiving day?

While Jamestown had a horrendous death rate (as did the pilgrims), it was the first English settlement that survived in what is now the USA. It was the settlement that evenyually became Virginia.

Re: Happy Thanksgiving Accyweb!!
just as a brief digression , a few years ago the Disney corp released a cartoon/animated movie called Pocahontas, part of the movie promotion included sending out a free movie pass for 2 persons to every J*** Smith listed in every phone book in the US , I have no idea how many used the free passes but it sure made one aware of how mass marketing techniques are manipulating the marketplace
