Happy Thanksgiving Accyweb!!
Okay, I guess you guys don't celebrate Thanksgiving like we do here in the States. It's a time of giving thanks for various blessings. Besides Faith, family and friends, wanted you guys to know you would be thanked for as we gather around the table tomorrow.
Hey American dwelling Accywebbers, how will you be celebrating your Thanksgiving? Here's what we do when not travelling to distance parts: We start the day by dressing upo in colonial garb. Cindy and Annie dress the turkey (though NOT in colonial garb), bake pies, and all the other fixins. Joshua and I will gather wood, tend the fire, bring some butternut squash to the neighbors. Then we play a game of 2 hand touch football (American), watch football (Am.), eat, watch more football, eat, watch some movies, oh yeah, and eat.
Accywebbers, feel free to join in with this tradition. It's a nice one!
CHEERS!
Love from Culpeper, Virginia

Now Ian you see we can agree on something, that American 'football is terrible, 'time out'. regards Ian.T.W.

Re: Happy Thanksgiving Accyweb!!
Cute pic lil bruv! Called Joshua over to see what Uncle Rindy sent over!
Just to clarify, we don't "do" the cutzy pilgrim male outfit. Rather we dress more frontiersman/mountain man outfits. Much more versatile for a sundry of activities.
Gotta agree with you entwisi, can't watch much "football" at a time. Lot of switching between that and basketball (college) and movies etc.
Thanks Grannyc! Hey can I ask you a quick one? On the Burnley site, there are some very specific "Claret" threads. What is that all about? Is abouit a family, a football team, a location?
Brian

Re: Happy Thanksgiving Accyweb!!
If turkey is the national dish at Thanksgiving, what is eaten at Christmas?

Re: Happy Thanksgiving Accyweb!!
Dinner's cooking. Sipping a glass of Sangria. Re-read portions of William Bradford's journal this a.m. He was one of 102 passengers aboard the Mayflower when it sailed for the New World on August 1st, 1620. He later became governor of the Plymouth Colony. It was no pleasure cruise. When they landed on the shores of the future home of the Kennedy Clan, they found a 'cold, barren, desolate wilderness." During the first winter, half the Pilgrims, (including Bradford's wife), died of starvation, sickness or exposure. Their early experiments with collectivism failed. That's right....long before Karl Marx, they figured out it was a dud. And so they ventured into free market capitalism. "This had very good success," wrote Bradford.
It is a great priviledge to be an American and I am ever thankful to have been allowed the opportunity. I am thankful for my family, friends and many mentors over the years. A special thanks to our troops, no matter where they are serving today. Happy Thanksgiving!
