Harriet Harman got the job but didn't!
So Harriet Harman was elected Deputy Leader of the Labour party only to be told immediately that she wasn't going to be Deputy Prime Minister.
She's been made party Chairman instead.
Not quite sure how that works, how can you actually seperate the deputy leadership of the party from the deputy leadership role in government?
Supposed to be because she doesn't get on well with Gorden Brown.
As someone who voted (not for her by the way) I actually feel quite cheated that the election process could be ignored in such an outrageous way. She won fair and square and when I voted I was pretty sure that I was voting for the deputy prime minister role as a given.
