Re: Harry Potter

We paid £5 for ours at ASDA in spite of what I said about ASDA and the little bookshops.

Reminds me of the General Election in 1992.

Re: Harry Potter

Sorry.... in the build up to the 1992 election, Labour told the electorate that in order to improve education, health, etc they'd have to increase taxation. The general feeling around the country was that people were willing to pay more tax in order to gain better services and Labour were well ahead in the polls.

When it came down to it, people voted with their pockets and the Tories were re-elected.

I know it was far more complex than that, but it just reminded me of that.

Re: Harry Potter

Ah right. Well I voted more for the fun of getting it on release rather than the price. I was going to go to The Works but Busman thought we might have to queue outside in the rain and at ASDA we'd be under cover so that was why he suggested going there.

Re: Harry Potter

man that last last chapter was a total anti-climax - i know why she put it in there - to end all possiblilty of there being another harry potter but come on that was just blaaaaaah

it was all goin so well upto then!!

nice twists - i was expecting a few of them to die - i got about 3 right of those that died.

the snape story was good and touching i think. and the whole after-life thing

but why o why did she write that last one - she cud've done a wrap up chapter instead just sayin who did what and what happened to so and so... how harry took to his new position as godfather etc what happened to the malfoys

the last battle was good but i wanted some more. maybe some wizards from other countries turnin up etc... some turn arounds something more.

it did sorta drag a bit when they were doin all that camping and tryna solve it all
