Have we really become so bone idle

Was in my local grocery store today , in the dairy aisle picked up a gallon of Milk and a pound of Butter , towards the end of the aisle near to the Eggs noticed a "new" product... shrink wrapped plastic bags of "shelled hard boiled Eggs ", six for $2.69 (£1.67) , regular fresh Eggs in the next cabinet are selling for $1.49 (£ .92 ) a dozen.
Question .... is it me , am I turning into my parents/grandparents when wondering if such stuff is really necessary and who in their right mind would buy such stuff

Someone who didn't mind shelling out an extra $1.20 Convenience store a few klicks north of here advertises "Frozen Ice" Whatever happened to getting the fresh stuff outa the tap and freezing it yourself.

No.....I don't buy take-aways, or pre-prepared food. I make my own grub from scratch........why? Because, I can!

Re: Have we really become so bone idle

Chip shops round here have sold pickled eggs, from big jars of them on the counter, for years.

Though I've only ever seen drunks buy them.

When the inebriated return home, after they've sat down and eaten their fish 'n' chips, with gravy and guacamole, whoops, meant mushy peas, topped off by a pickled egg, if they root about at the back of the cupboard, they might find a packet of dried egg, left over from rationing days.

Somebody would make a fortune, if they manufactured ready chewed food.

Ready grated mature cheese is sometimes cheaper than blocks when on offer.

I'm sure it would be much cheaper to make your own on a good day and then freeze them??
I would much sooner do that than give supermarkets any more than i have too.
