Aye, and upon first dealing with a few of the Accy family, I equalled them to evil Step-Brothers. However, after ~6 months getting used to the banter, now see many of them as good friends.

To tell ya the truth, I rather enjoy a good verbal joust between Accywebbers. What a witty group here. Late at night after some imbibing is best. Boy could Mancie, Chav and Rindy go at it! And remember how the old grumpster, Hatter, and others could stir up a hornets nest on here?

A "loonie" is a Canadian one dollar coin, so called because the original one had an image of a loon on the reverse. First issued in 1987, the coin is now worth almost one US dollar. I sincerely hope that this is too much information, and certainly not what you were looking for.

Re: have you noticed

If this is not enough, we have the "twoonie" which is a two dollar coin ... two loonies in one .... has a Polar Bear on the back ... coin sometimes known as the "Queen with a bear behind."

A loon is a lake dwelling bird -only know that because the author Stephen King often mentions them in his novels set in Maine USA

A loon is a water bird, and it has a distinctive, mournful call. When you are out in the wilderness (no, not Ossy) camping you can hear them calling, esp. around sunset and in the early evening. A true Canadian icon, like the beaver, the polar bear, and the rabid skunk (not the rabid skank, like Paris Hilton, which appears to be a US phenomenon)
