Haworth Park,

Paris n I were up yon this aft n noticed in the rose garden 3 Mosaic plaques have appeared, commemorating the Accrington Pals, Unsure who has actually made em, but we were very impressed wi em, Sure they wasn't yon on Sunday, so have been erected this week sometime? Anyway very nice to see em, n well done to who ever is responsible.

There's a committee been set up by the council to look into commemorating the Pals so maybe this is one of their actions. Maybe also the Civic Society.

I was up there this afternoon as Mayor for the 1st Anniversary of the Rose Garden. I was shown the plaques by Sheila McVan of Baxenden Community Forum. She said they were made some years ago for the 90th Anniversary of the Pals by Accrington schools. They have now been re-mounted near the Art Gallery where hopefully they won't be vandalised.
