HBC Website payments - hmm.

Just a headsup. Tried to pay C-tax twice via HBC website yesterday. First attempt errored with an odd redirect URL (secure1.hyndburnbc.gov.uk/paris.net/Sales/), a 2nd attempt in the evening completed the transaction, but returned a message saying HBC's payment systems are down and to phone them.

The usual HBC runaround this morning. Nobody from the payments dep't is taking calls as the systems are down and payments can't be tracked. I mentioned my concerns about the odd URL and asked if they'd been compromised, wouldn't confirm or deny.

Not sure what is going on. Had the bank put a watch put on my card as a precaution.

people couldnt pay their green bin tax either

they have a cut off time for paying your green bin tax as well so i do wonder if you move in to a property after when they refuse to take payment how you are supposed to get your green bin emptied

seems to me HBC are trying to panic everyone in to paying all at teh same time so as not to miss the green bin tax payment deadline and it has crashed their webisite

woudlnt be the first time HBC put up a useless in effective website lol

You could be right Accyman. Almost 2 months later and its still broken. You'd have thought that payment systems would have at least some priority at HBC. Crying poverty but you can't pay your tax quickly and simply, what a joke.

I paid my council tax on the same system on Friday without any difficulty...though I did notice that the site had been given a facelift(for want of a better word).

I've been trying to pay since Sat' Margret. All online systems (including automated telephone payment systems) are down. Just managed to get through to HBC on the phone and they confirmed this and stated it was a 'National problem'. National problem I asked? why hasn't it been in the media? Well, it turns out its only a problem for those councils in our Nation that use the same company for payment processing.. So not a National problem at all...

The only way to pay anything to HBC at this time is via bank transfer. They happily give you the sort code & account number to do this, if you can get through on the telephone.

At 11pm last night the HBC website was again taking payments. Lets see if its working at my next installment.

Always make them wait until the morning and don't fret.
