Re: Heath Ledger found dead in apartment
Surely whatever a role is whether it is a cameo part in a TV series or a demanding role in a Shakespeare play the thing one would hope to be remembered for is having filled the role to the best of one's ability. The fact that someone preferred to look for something more challenging does not mean that they didn't put all their effort into doing whatever they did and to be remembered for having done that is surely not a bad thing.
I knew an actor (now deceased) who was extremely talented but would accept bit parts as well as starring roles and when asked why he would 'demean' himself with cameos in Columbo and the like his reply was that the day he considered himself too high and mighty to rise to any challenge was the day he should quit the business.
