Helicopters and roads blocked?

Anybody got any idea what happened in Clayton today? Busman said traffic was held up at the Hare and Hounds traffic lights in Clayton and there were police helicopters circling.

Oh poor woman. That sounds awful. That would explain why traffic to Hyndburn Rd was backed up too.

Well, I came through around 4.20 and clear .. although was a helicopter hovering .. poor lady .. it's not just the injury though when you are elderly .. the pneumonia that can set in.

If I were religious, would say a prayer for her, but will cross my fingures instead, which is sorta' tantamount ..x

That is so sad.

Latest info from Busman - the helicopter was apparently the Air Ambulance. The rumour about 'hit and run' began because although the truck hit her at the road junction it didn't stop until the canal bridge. It was a huge truck and it is possible that the driver may not even have been aware that he had hit someone until he was stopped by others and informed of the fact.
