It does my head in...i wish they would leave the clocks alone......and i don't quite care which they choose GMT/BST.....either will do just leave it at that. It takes my bodyclock 3 weeks to readjust itself.

This just goes to prove just how lacking in observation and full of pomposity and bluster good old jambutty happens to be. It may have escaped his notice but this is a biannual ritual, as we also perform it in October. I'm glad I wasn't in the Royal Navy when he was on watch.

Go on report this one Jambutty, you old mard arse.

It is obvious that your reading skills leave a lot to be desired not to mention your memory.

I do believe that I wrote “And then in October we have to put the time back one hour.” in the opening post.

I guess that shoots your childish attempt to be clever down in flames.

Aah. Forgive me for being so thick. And here's me thinking something occurring twice a year was a biannual event. Thanks for clarifying that something which happens twice a year is an annual event.

In a sense, he is right. Putting the clock forward happens once ... putting it back happens once ... so we have two annual events.

Does this get me in the club

Can't agree with that, we should keep BST all year. We did it one year (1971/72?) and I thought it was great. Yes it was dark in the mornings (we lived in North Yorkshire so it was probably even darker there than down here) but at least the children came home from school in daylight.

I don't like Winter afternoons when it's dark by 4 p.m. I get SAD.

Sad???? Winter means hockey ... ice fishing ... skating .... snowmobling ... tobogganing on Fort Henry hill ... hot chocolate with a splash of overproof rum ... oh, and hockey.

Not here it doesn't, matey. Where I live it means an inch of snow, half melted then frozen solid in lumps, freezing cold winds blowing rain and sleet into your face, chilblains, colds and 'flu.
