He was asked to put up whereas I requested to be nominated as candidate, he isn't involved with any of the local community groups in Rishton whereas I am, and his flyer is a crude black and white photocopy whereas Graham has laid out my newsletter and photographs to actually show the work I do in Rishton.
We have a blogspot which I update on a weekly basis with what is happening in Rishton and I work continually with Harry Grayson (our existing Labour councillor and a born-and-bred Rishtoner) in sorting out problems for any residents that get in touch with either of us.
There has been little in the way of canvassing from the Tories (and certainly not with Peter Britcliffe) whereas I have had Graham and the Labour faithful rallying with me on several occasions.
Of course, none of that remotely guarantees me a place on the council come polling day but I would like to think that I am by far the better candidate in Rishton because I already do some of the things which I expect of a councillor.
Until two weeks ago I was prepared for a good clean gentlemanly fight and then I witnessed that his 'canvassing' involves trying to slag me off to the regulars at the Workmen's Club while I'm stood at the bar.
How about some policies and principles instead, or are they unfashionable with Hyndburn Conservatives?
