Herman to be given freedom of borough?

Will Herman the German be given the freedom of the borough for his heroic actions, and saving the life of Peter Britcliffe?

Accrington Observer - Leader in holiday horror river plunge

It must have been frightening, but it does also sound hilarious.

Splashing himself with water, then fell in, whilst little kids happily paddled around him?

Sadly no pictorial evidence on YouTube...yet.

He's a politician. Couldn't he just walk on the water?

It must have been frightening for his 12 year old daughter.

Not an idea that I would like to see. How the hell did he manage to get into that much of a mess in the first place? Maybe its time to call him Mr Bump.
Hope his daughter recovers from the shock of it all.

How on earth did he manage to fall so far in as to get swept away when children were paddling at the edge?

It must have been terrifying for his daughter at the time.
