Re: Highams Playing Fields
Well I did see something involving Councillor Dad who was concerned that the cricket pitches wouldn't be ready for the Summer !!!!!
Cricket pitches !!!! What about the local residents who have nowhere to take their children for somewhere to play, the local Rugby and Football teams that used the fields for matches or training and anyone else that just wants to exercise or walk their dog.
Has anyone seen it ? Its a mud bath now.

Re: Highams Playing Fields
No the play areas are still there but then the entire field is fenced off, I meant more for a kick about with kids and just somewhere they could run around safely with adults.
There's no signs up saying what is happening and I've seen very little in any papers but I don't think anyone's worked on the land since well before Christmas. They were working 7 days a week at first then it's all stopped just seems strange.

Re: Highams Playing Fields
Highams has been lucky enough to secure funding to drain the fields, at times they used to be like a swamp. You can install drainage without digging up the fields. I would guess the weather may have caused them problems but all you need to do is phone or email Hyndburn and they will tell you, contact info is here Contact details

I have thanks not heard anything back yet, thats why I posted on here in case anyone else knew. Maybe they have to let them drain a while before they can carry on ???

When and how did you contact them, they usually get back to you within a few days.

Re: Highams Playing Fields
From what I recall the playing areas were going to be levelled and the drainage improved, doesn't seem to be progressing very quickly though!

Re: Highams Playing Fields
Did they say if they are expecting it to be finished and the pitches ready for use this year?
