Jobs are going to be lost in Baxenden. Holland's Pies are going to be made in Ireland!!!

How could they? How can you have an IMPORTED Holland's Pie??

Commiserations to all those who will be made redundant as a result of this.

50 jobs? Although any job loss is bad it sounds a low number? There's more than 50 people work there, it must only be one section of it being moved to Ireland?

bear in mind that (i believe) a lot of their staff are agency staff and so are not included in the staff loss count

Well they will be keeping some local connection. They are shirt sponsors for Burnley next season.

I got the impression from the news it's partial shift not full closedown.

Disgraceful. That's money which could be going towards their LOCAL football league club. I'll definitely boycott 'em for that reason alone.

Never been a big fan of Hollands pies, prefer Bessie Greens but feel sorry for the job losses.

Maybe the sponsorship is offset by the contract for supply.
