Re: 'Holy Grail' Of Shipwrecks Found

there is something 'odd' about this story and I can't quite figure it out , if the wreck was found somewhere in the English channel how did the 'salvagers' manage to presumably bring all this gold ashore to either Britain or France before flying it out to the US without British or French customs getting involved and asking a few questions ,seems to me the story would have made the news before it was unloaded in the US, would think if it was you or me bringing in an extra bottle of booze questions would be asked .
Seems to me this is an ideal/easy way of recycling recently stolen gold bullion,

Apparently it was found outside the twelve mile zone of British waters. It could then have been loaded onto a ship, and sailed back to the U.S.A., thus avoiding European customs.

Mind, they would have to sail back carefully, for fear of pirates.

seems the Spanish are getting a bit curious about where this gold came from
http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2007/...asure-Ship.php

supposedly according to other news reports the gold was flown to the US from Gibraltar which has different 'tax' laws than the UK ,
