Home delivery

I have been looking for a cooker for nearly 3 weeks,i needed an elec cooker and i wanted some extra warrenty, yesterday i decided to go to comets and currys when i got there i picked one out that i liked went to get some help(amazed i wasnt pounced on entry)when i was told that they only deliver,i didnt want delivery i had my own transport, but we only deliver,we dont hold any in stock i was told.the same applied for comets, now i dont want to pay nearly £20 delivery and then have to wait up to 10 working days for it,when i have my own transport
now why can you walk in and get a huge tv,washer fridge to take away, but not get a cooker?10 working days what a joke so your forced to pay the £20 delivery charge,if you want your item atall,

Re: Home delivery

I don't know if you have a largish co-op near you, but they sell elec items including cookers and you can collect!!

Re: Home delivery

It could be a health and safety issue or warranty, but I aggree you should be able to buy 'ex stock' a large cash and carry is your best bet, personally I would have knocked you the £20 off before I lost a sale.

Re: Home delivery

commet are trying to rip you off i bought somthing from there not too long ago and took it away myself

if they insist on delivering it buy your item online from their website as it will be cheaper than buying it in the store and they deliver it as well

power house if it is still open will let you take goods away there and then

Re: Home delivery

I'm with chav on this one so if you can buy on line and save on both price and no delivery. The waiting 10 days is cow pats on their part as they hope you are desperate enough to want it asap.

Re: Home delivery

Very frustrating that you couldn't load one up and take it home with you.

Re: Home delivery

they probably didnt have any in stock and rather risk you going elsewhere they wanted to take your money and expect you to wait until they got the item from another store

Thats just it, they don't get the items in stock, they have them all delivered from a centralised warehouse!!!

I think if they can't give you the option of collecting then they should waive the delivery charge!!

then its best to buy off their website the delivery time is the same and teh stock comes from the same warehouse and its cheaper

i rang up commet when looking at their website and was told 50 quid for an item i wanted and i asked if i could pick it up from teh blackburn store but when i got there they wanted 70 quid

balls to em go buy yur stuff at a place that appreciates their customers or at least has the ability to give you your goods when they take your cash , dont see them offering cash on delivery

Yes but youve got to admit how good you feel when the big lorry comes along delivering your goods and the curtains are twitching !
