Hospital car parking in Wales
I'ts been on BBC Breakfast news this morning that parking fees in hospital car parks in Wales are being scraped, and if the carparks are run by independant bodies the cost is being reduced. What the hells going on, it apears that the only people in this country who are being like door mats are the poor English

'Poor' being the operative word.
Prescriptions are free too, if you live in Wales.

Re: Hospital car parking in Wales
Basically it boils down to government legislated racial discrimination, yet they get away with it.

I read that prescription charges could be abolished within the next 4 years in Scotland too.....there will only be us daft beggars paying the damn things in a bit.
I watched a programme a couple of weeks ago where they spoke to people in Berwick-upon-Tweed which England's most northerly town. They were having a mock referendum to see if people would like Berwick to remain classed as England or would they like to become part of Scotland.
They voted to become part of Scotland as they felt people were treated better. I didn't know this before but in Scotland the elderly don't pay for carers to come in, it's free. Also there are no university tuition fees there. There were a couple of other points but I can't remember what they were.
Sorry Jaysay, bit of a wander from hospital car parking in Wales but in a way it is relevant. We in England do seem to get a rough deal in all this.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for free parking in hospital grounds for hospital staff and visitors but sadly it is bound to be abused at hospitals close to town centres.
People do it now with supermarkets close to town centres so they won’t think twice just because it is a hospital.
There will be one or two, then three or four, then a few more and before you know it the car is full of shoppers or workers.

Well, we in England have a scottish prime minister, who sanctions rules that don't effect the people who eleted him, we have all Scotish and Welsh MPs who are allowed to have a say on what effects use yet don't effect the people who elect them either. Now if the honerable member for Hyndburn and the Leader of the Labour Group on HBC would like to join in this thread and explain to use mere mortals why we in England are treated in this way, feel free to do so, I am not holding my breath

Re: Hospital car parking in Wales
Personally i don't think Graham Jones has a say in this matter seeing as it is down to your M.P Greg Pope is rarely on this site now.
However you may find this website that gives you a list of things that Greg Pope has voted for against etc.

Was going to say something along similar lines jaysay. It irritates me that Scottish and Welsh MP’s who sit in our parliament can actually vote on matters concerning English citizens. They can vote that we keep prescription charges, university fees etc. whilst it has no effect on them or their constituents in Scotland or Wales.

Re: Hospital car parking in Wales
Have to agree with a couple of people here.
It has angered me for a long time that Scottish and Welsh M.P's get a say on our way of life but we get no say in theirs.
How can this be?
Why are we treated so shabbily in this country?
Like Willow said i think i will move to Scotland too!
