This is on a par with the Headmistress in Tower Hamlets who turned down a free visit for the school to a performance of Romeo and Juliet by the Royal Shakespeare Company. Her reason - it celebrated heterosexual love!
We are now having to realise that tolerance only works one way - in favour of those who see themselves (whether genuinely or not) as a minority, of whatever sort. Obviously, all national customs and traditions are the province of the majority, therefore no tolerance need be shown to them. I'm only afraid that we'll wake up too late to what's happening, and find that our heritage has been completely trashed in the name of political correctness. |
