House Heartbreak For Couple!!!

I have just been reading an article in a magazine about a couple who were paid £10,000 compensation in 2004 for their home in Salford when they had to move due to regeneration. The houses have now been refurbished and their old home is valued at £78,000. This couple had to get a mortgage of £25,000 to buy their new home, I feel that they should receive more compensation after all as they say it wasn't just a house it was their home and they wouldn't have moved if they had known the houses were going to stay. How do councils get away with treating people like this?

I dont know how the councils get away with it either, think thats disgusting, must admit I've never heard of that before usually the houses are knocked down.

The couple are both in their seventies!
