How far...

Would 5-10k go in a council budget?

Peter Britcilffe could have a column a week in both Obs and LT.

Graham Jones could get a apprentice for 12 months.

Oswaldtwistle could have a carnival for 20 years (donations this year)

We could buy back a 1/50 of the bus station.

Spend it on buses that stop after tea.

Kept Accy Con from being destroyed because of a fruitless developers.

Made a stationary stand for taxis without destroying local businesses.

Kept Peter from getting to deep in pies he can't get away from.

Pay for Miles to actually come out and be a people person.

Let Ken cut the grass whilst chewing on the fat.

And I can't remember the defector who screwed over his daughter but so long as his name was around he was happy. Malcolm?

Maybe take cashy back a few decades because he's becoming a grumpy old man

Come on folks help me out, I can't think... Maybe Britcilffe was right

Should this go in anything goes?

Re: How far...

Maybe it would pay for keeping some free public toilets open.

Re: How far...

It would pay councillor's expenses for the meeting, the way our council throw money away.

Re: How far...

if the council wants to make money they can take all the 20mph signs back down and weigh them in for scrap because currently theres a lot of money just hanging of lamp posts been taken no notice of what so ever

one of the biggest wastes of money this decade by LCC or whoever it is who decided to put them up

not taken notice of and not enforced
maxthecollie and RainbowSix like this.

The sign that annoys me most is the ones on the motorway, telling us 'street lights not in use'... well, once it's dark, this is stating the blinkin' obvious!!

Re: How far...

Then there are the signs that tell us that Surface Dressing is about to be carried out and No Road Markings. I thought that signs were to be removed when the works were completed?

It would have paid for better signage for the bus station.....letters that do not tarnish.
