It seems a popular traveller has died, a wake has been planned, an estimated 500 mourners will be attacking, erm I mean paying their respects in the Accrington area on Wednesday.
The local plods advice to landlords is, close your pub for the day if you open and have any bother we will not attend.
Whaaaat? So we the ordinary citizens can't wander our own town choosing to go for a drink because our safety is being put at stake by what?
A group of people that are supposedly respecting the memory of a loved one!
Can they not do it in a manner that doesn't disrupt the rest of the community, we all lose family and friends at sometime, holding a town to ransom is not the way to show respect for their passing.
As for our Police...






...what a disgrace.

Tomorrow may pass with the travellers causing no trouble at all, if so, whom is to be held responsible for causing disruption to our local trade and the lives of the folk both local and the travellers?

I normally go out for a drink or two on Wednesday afternoon but a phone call from a mate this morning advised me not to bother, as in the advice above from our boy's in blue to the local pubs to shut their doors for the day whilst the "Turnpike Travellers",(not wanting to be politically incorrect), invaded our town, put my normal day on hold.

What the devil is happening to this country when the councils are building bigger and bigger sites for "travellers" who never travel ?

Our rates are even paying to have workshops/warehouse type building installed on their so called Travelling sites so that they can sort out the scrap that they pick up and process, (legally or illegally)

These people are not Gypsies/Romany stock, they are the people that the Southern Irish,(Eire) government kicked out of the country and our do-goody councillors mainly of Blair/Corbanistic ideology have allowed to flourish to the detriment of many a small town/village.

Rant over but boy do I feel better for getting that of my chest.

my point is the town has to bend because its common practice for these lot to trash places and brawl

it wasnt that long ago the brickworks got trashed and had to close for a few days to be repaired.There was also a stabbing in its car park

the police make sure burnley and rovers fans dont meet or clash so why cant they keep the public safe from these people rather than tell teh town to run and hide until they have gone away

Well what the hey, I had a nice day, in a pub that kept it's doors shut, all that was needed was the landlords 'phone number.
He wasn't to be stopped from serving his customers, he kept his doors locked and allowed his locals to watch the football they should have been allowed to watch.
No pikers, no problems, the way it should be if the Police were in control!

Just got to Brickworks door as it was closing complete over reaction we thought. I'm sure many of us will have gone to a function at least once in a lifetime when it turned into a biff session without any travellers attending it. From my own experience in our town seeking a social glass we me wife after work without any agro kicking off around you is becoming even more impossible regretfully.

The solution to the Burnley v Blackburn matches Accyman is that no away fan, which ever it be, can only get to the match by coach from ground to ground. This way it is easy to control. Annoying for some fans but it seems to work. Anyway other than the FA Cup they will not be playing each other for a while.

yes i know this as i know an elderly burnley fan that lives in ewood who has to go to burnley to get in to ewood park then go back to burnley to get back to ewood

clearly this OAP is a danger to society and highly likely to start a street brawl outside his own home and is rightfully escorted by police to burnley so he can come back to ewood lol

Point is police should have been out in force and shown the same level of determination in keeping the peace as they do for protests , football matches etc

these people know they can cause trouble because they know the police are seemingly scared to death of them if the police are putting out notice that they will not attend calls if they kick off and start destroying public property or attacking people

traveler is not a race they arnt been racially profiled they should be held as accountable to the law as everyone else is.

if a race card is played it should be that it is racist to exclude them from the rules that apply to everyone else

does give em more time for what they seem to really enjoy. setting up speed traps and driving their unmarked cars about trying to catch you speeding. that raises money, keeping the peace costs money.
