How should you dress to go out?
Well I went out last Sunday and Thursday in town, wearing the shoes attached in the photo and nobody cared.
Tonight (Saturday) I went out and the bouncers on Bees Knees prevented me from entering along with Shakers. I must add I was wearing a shirt and was with people older than me who were also 'correctly' dressed.
I really don't understand it. If its some attempt to make certain places seem 'upmarket' then they're failing badly because I don't consider either Bees or Shakers to be particularly upmarket.
If it was some attempt to ban trouble makers by banning sports wear (even though the shoes I am wearing are not sports ware) I don't see what use it will do, because the same people are just going to wear shirts and then enter.
The only place I consider to be slightly upmarket so to speak in Accrington, is the Calder, and they had no problem with me entering with those shoes on.
Really rather annoying because nobody cared on other days, and the shoes I wear don't make me a troublesome person.. not that my shoes are even sports gear they're converse but I guess that would take too long to explain.
Thoughts?

Re: How should you dress to go out?
I think the reason they didn't let you in is because your left foot has been laced differently to the right one and they got worried......

Re: How should you dress to go out?
When bouncers start taking Vogue, instead of steroids, I'll start taking notice of their fashion judgements.
Totally agree, dress codes are daft, as well as being parochial. Places in London, or most major cities, just don't have them.
Pair of designer canvas shoes versus a pair of 'propper' shoes from Tommy Balls bought for a quid? Mmmmm, let me think

Re: How should you dress to go out?
I'd say your attitude and character matter a lot more than your footwear. I don't wear them myself but my kids reckon converse are a lot comfier than 'proper' shoes and to me they look smart (but only if the laces match )

The shoes are fine, but that carpet has to go!

Is that a paper sack or a shemag? (Shemag, not she-mag!)

I know what happened to it, you have posted a link to another site instead of attaching it here. The firewall here blocks your hosting site. That probably why its better to attach than post links.

Rindy's fashion tip for Spring...platforms are back.
...and they'll help you get served more quickly at the bar next week.

Re: How should you dress to go out?
I have pairs of shoes But these are more comfy and go better with the jeans I was wearing.
Yeah the laces are done up different, I like it.. fits the "style" of converse..
I just can't believe places like Bees are implementing dress codes that are more than just "Dont come in wearing trainers, tracksuit and baseball cap"
edit: Neil the picture seems to work fine?
