Re: Humour

Mine has certainly got drier and I find things much more amusing for it.

If I didn't laugh at the world around me I would go stark staring mad and anyone who can't laugh at themselves is on a hiding to nothing. All these Z-list celebrities who take themselves seriously and can't see what pillocks they really are rather prove my point.

Michelle Mcanus, where are you now?

Whoops!

Ordinarily, I would have fixed that but it seems more appropriate to leave it be for this thread.

There's a lot of people think they've made when they've had there 15 minutes of fame, but they're soon forgotten

The knack is to be able to laugh at yourself,I only realised that I was dyslexic when I went to a Toga party dressed as a Goat

I have found that as I have become more mature, I find the present day comedians less funny...yes I do have a sense of humour, but it is different to when I was younger.

I can be doing with half of these saw called new comedians myself, give me the Jim Bowen's, Tommy Coopers and Benny Hills any day, I won't mention Bernard Manning or Jimmy Jones

Re: Humour

Again it's a personal thing, some things I found uproarious when younger now only raise a wry grin, other things have me laughing out loud & in tears. I'd say that your aspects change & you perceive different levels of humour, just look at some of the "Kids films" Shrek, Ice age, so many levels, kids enjoy the visual & slapstick so do the adults , but there's innuendo & double intendre that go straight over the kids but has the adults in pleats.

So yes, I think you humour changes. As to does it help? Sometimes, but it depends on how deep you dropped yourself in it whether humour alone will get you out of it, as folk are wont to say "Oh I'm always in the she-ite, its just that the depth varies !"
