Re: Hyndburn to be axed.
So in the end a certain individual wants it to be his lasting legacy to the community. Regardless of what the citizens think or want he will probally go ahead with it anyway.

Re: Hyndburn to be axed.
Probably, but if he continues to ride rough shod over people like this then it will all backfire in the end.

Very true but he will find a way out of it at someone else's expense.

One would be Airtours, a travel call centre, who have just been taken over, and therefore their job security isn't guaranteed. I think they employ about 400 people in Accrington.

No, change the logo if need be.. no objection to re-branding, lots of council's do this ... just keep the name. Although, like the logo meself.
Hyndburn is a lovely word .. better than Accrington, particularly when said with a Livepool accent on a milk advert !!

Don't know about you Katex but that was the last nail in the coffin lid as far as I'm concerned regarding PB. I don't care what good he might have done for the borough or a park in the borough or anything else. It's just this bloody minded attitude that downright annoys me.

He's as isolated as Marie Antoinette was in pre-revolutionary France.
'Let them eat carnations...from the flower towers!'
Every time I go to Accrington I get mad about the carbuncle that is the blue and white Town Hall extension. Now if he was using the money to give that horror a face lift, I for one would be happy.

Wonder why they don't do it Garinda ? Seems wouldn't be too heavy a cost for a face lift, and definitely please lots of us voters. Perhaps they have other plans for that building maybe. ?

Re: Hyndburn to be axed.
You'd thnk it would be a priority considering it is right slap bang in the middle of town on Broadway with all the new seats and chrome tree cages wouldn't you?
BTW those trees at the top end of Broadway appear to be ex-trees.

Disagree , It should be left as is , as a reminder to present and future civic leaders and town planers that this is what happens when you know or think you know better than others , when in fact you know ****** all . Of course the usual excuses will come pouring out " before my time" etc.
No doubt the persons responsible are living out their days on the Costa del Crime, spending time polishing their MBEs and OBEs granted for services to ending urban blight .

We already have enough reminders of past incompetencies, thank you.
Perhaps you could start a charity in America to purchase said eyesore. It could look stunning next to London Bridge in Arizona.

Re: Hyndburn to be axed.
Now perhaps people will realise why there seems to be such apathy in the town in response to 'big new ideas' because when people do have passionate opinions about something it's all ignored anyway.
