I've managed to access the site, though according to the blurb in the Observer you can post comments on the site about the proposed introduction of town councils, though I can't see any mention of it.

Mine was posted through the door last week Cashy, and you're right Kate it is on there.
I was looking on the otherside, and reading one of the two non-English languages printed on the said calendar, and must have been distracted.

Re: Hyndburn to be axed.
Mine too was just posted through the door ..... maybe they didn't bother with you because you were sunning yourself in Spain and no rubbish to collect ...
Hey, and guess what ... actually got a new white/blue bag this week after weeks of putting everything in black bin liners . felt like I had won the lottery .. Think they may have been doing this generally though.

I think we're just going to get the change whether we want it or not because PB does.

Re: Hyndburn to be axed.
It should still be called Accrington! If someone ask you where you live, you say "I live in Accrington" !!

Err....yes.
Just as someone from Ossy/Rishton/Clayton/Harwood would say they lived in their respective towns.
The point is no one says we are from Hyndburn, it's just the political name of the borough our towns are all in.

They do me too, but the concept of Hyndburn being only the political name of the borough, and not the towns therein, seems to have by-passed Moon.

Re: Hyndburn to be axed.
It's reported in this weekend's Observer that the proposed town councils are currently under consideration, now that the consultation period is over.
It also says that these new proposals were brought about because the changing of the name of the borough, from Hyndburn to Accrington and Districts, has been shelved.
Hurrah!
Common, and economic, sense for a change.

What - having town councils or not changing the name?
