Re: Hyndburn's New Tourist Attraction
Big article about the campaign to keep the toilets open, in this weekend's Observer.
Photographs of the potties, and mention of the Facebook campaign, and how many people have joined it.

Bang up to date.
The photographer didn't even wait for one poor old man to get off the jerry, before taking the picture.
There might be a new Spot the Ball competition in next week's paper.

Re: Hyndburn's New Tourist Attraction
There's an article on the BBC website about public loos.
BBC News - Where can you go to the toilet?
Interesting to see where Manchesters remaining public loo will be
Quote from
Richard Chisnell, chairman of the Loo of the Year Awards. "Toilets are what it's all about. We're in danger, with all the cutbacks and doom and gloom, of losing our basic front-line services such as toilets.
"However bad the cutbacks, people aren't going to stop needing the toilet."
Qoute from Peter Britcliffe in the Observer on council cuts
"
Council leader Peter Britcliffe told Tuesday's Cabinet meeting it was "the most difficult budget procedure we have had to go through in the last 20 years."
But he claimed frontline services would not be damaged "
So can somebody tell me the difference between front line services and front line services

There was a phone in on the Jeremy Vine show today, about loo closures.
I don't know if you were on, as I can't always get a signal in the outside tippler.

Just a meagre three, Bernard ...
But another article, plus Lancsdave picture of the baby potties. Obvious they will not be swayed on this with Marlene stating that they are not actually cutting services, but improving with state of the art in the market hall with a disabled facility and shower room. Who the hek cares .. when you gotta' go, you gotta' go .. bare necessities is all that is needed. Ok not arguing about the disabled facity.

I think it's the same difference as a front botty and a back botty.
Or is the difference what comes out?
It's very confusing.
