Re: I Wish I’d Done …..
Mine would have to be ...I wish i,d done better in school and made more of my future ..
I was more than capable to come through school and get good results had i have taken more time to put into school what it was offering me ,but at the time my priority were my mates and having fun and i left half way through my exam year so left with nothing , but looking back i can see i wasted my education and my life would have been so very different had i put my mates to one side and studdied more . Although I am very happy with my life i do sometimes think how different it could have been ...

Re: I Wish I’d Done …..
Sometimes I've thought about things I haven't done but if I had done them I wouldn't be where I am now and I wouldn't like to change that so I don't think there's really anything I would say I've missed doing.

Re: I Wish I’d Done …..
I wish I'd have gone more graciously water ski-ing with my late Dad.
He loved messing about on his boats, and when I think of him now, it is always with a massive grin on his face, whilst jumping the boat's wake, and signalling to go even faster.
Once I'd mastered as much as you can do, on one or two skis, I didn't have the same enthusiasm for it as my Dad did. On holidays, or when I was home for the weekend, I reluctantly went with him and my Mum, to drive the boat. You need a driver and someone to watch and throw the roap.
When he was dieing, half an hour before it happened, I told him at Easter we could go down to their cottage in Pembrokeshire, and that we would have a great time ski-ing together. Both he and I knew this wasn't going to happen, but it was nice to imagine it might, if even for a second.
So...I wish I'd done more things with my Dad, and done a small thing more willingly that made him ecstatically happy. A Dad most of my friends would have given their right arm to have.

Re: I Wish I’d Done …..
MMM Jambutty great thread, but i already had to face that quite litterally, beleive me when u are on the death path that somehow happens itself, in a way death scares the crap out of me even more cos i sort of know what comes altho was lucky to get a 2nd shot at things, so got to do or change things because of that realisation 8years ago & ever since i do try to grap the horns of life when opportunities come my way - gee take them u have nowt to lose!! Something that came to me at that time cos the life i had beforehand i really wasted, didnt take opportunities always thought i was kind of invincible that they would come round again & i so took my life oh so much for granted that i wasted it on drifting thro it, missing chances, not taking action on things that i should of, lacked any beleif life is for living, lived on hope things will change than doing owt to action it, saw everything as doom & had no appreciation for my life at all, always thought i deserved nothing, i defenately wished i had enjoyed my life as i didnt & settled for so much less than i should of, rushing life too quickly all before 23 & then when i nearly went - my last dying thought was i wouldnt reach 30!!
BUT NOW!
Glady can say since i got my 2nd life - that i have changed, im very defensive of living & taking nowt for granted - hey i reached 30, every birthday im alive is special for being on earth one year older - age is very immaterial, stopped wishing my life away - gee even try to slow time down LOL!!
Regrets i have a few but all a growth & learning curve thats made my life stronger, yeh spug im with u on marraige but least we know what its about & not be keen to do it again, but as they say how do u know until u try, thankfully that lesson learnt & out of the way, hey done too many things the hard way LOL! Trouble is i know a little too much of this wise stuff a bit young LOL!!
Now im wanting to do as much as i can to enhance the happiness of my life - not just wishing....wishing is a bit of a wasted time ... just go for it! Thing is u cant change the past but u can change your future, so its never too late . & yeh some life circumstances i cant change but making the absolute best of them till i can change them
A song that sums this thread upto me is that Bon Jovi one - Its my life...
Chorus:
It's my life
It's now or never
I ain't gonna live forever
I just want to live while I'm alive
(It's my life)
My heart is like an open highway
Like Frankie said
I did it my way
I just wanna live while I'm alive
It's my life

Re: I Wish I’d Done …..
Also another piece of advice ---- be very careful what u do wish for or least think carefully & specifically - cos gee i got what i did wish for a lifetime away & they did come true in the end only to regret them & find out it wasn't what i wanted anyway as turned out

Re: I Wish I’d Done …..
I have read this thread with some interest and (sorry) amusement, and I did not 'honestly' intend to join in the debate, for personal reasons, it has been my observations that self preservation takes preference over any thoughts of this nature. If you look at the most holy of mortals IE the great church leaders they cling on to life to the last gasp of breath, even though they tell the rest of us "paradise awaits us and we should welcome death". Believe me when you are in that position, and are told "you have a 50/50 chance of surviving this procedure" the only thing that goes through your mind, is asking that great man in the sky, "please please let me live there is a million things I wish to do yet". That applies to even the most fervent non believer.

Re: I Wish I’d Done …..
Helicopters can’t go to the top of Everest entwisi the air is too thin, so you will have to walk like everyone else. Maybe you could paraglide or use one of those powered paragliders.
“Theres always time.” That’s the problem Lolly. Next thing you know you’re getting a telegram from the queen and you think “Damn I wish I done that.”
