That is a frightening prospect. Once that starts happening where are they going to draw the line?
As for these tests done which prove microwaves are harmful - did all the participants weigh the same and have the same fitness level? Did they even have the same metabolic rate? Surely the tests would be more relevant if carried out on the same person? If they got 100 people and did all the tests on all 100 of them and then compared results (excluding situations relating to female menstrual cycle and anyone who might be under the weather with a cold or something) that could produce a more accurately reliable result.

Didn't there used to be a regular column in The Observer where they went round reviewing takeaways and scoring them out of ten?
Now there's quality journalism.

Only if you pay me for my time.
Today's figure includes pizza places, sandwich shops etc, and places that have horses roasting on spits.

I couldn't agree more. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that there should be as much energy expended as there is going in, in order to maintain weight and not gain. Only an extremely small percentage of the population have definite metabolic problems which would affect weight......and that was straight from the mouth of a metabolic specialist.

Re: if you have a fat kid ....blame the microwave
I wuold not knowingly consume anythingnthat had been inside amicrowave device,in my short life I have been exposed to far to much radioactivity, to try to keep alivealso to locate my disease ie nuclear scans, a dose of radioactive fluid is injectedinto the bloodstream before the body passes through a radioactive tube.in short a man/woman sized microwave.device. better left alone in my opinion.

Re: if you have a fat kid ....blame the microwave
I very rarely eat microwaved food. And me and my girlfriend have already talked about giving the little one microwaved food when he is older, and we both agreed its a bad idea. I cant understand why people think microwaved food is quicker to make, most of them take roughly 8minutes, in 8 minutes i could probably prepare a full meal and then it just needs leaving to cook and serving 20minutes later. Its not hard to cook. But i think its unfair to just blame food for kids being fat, anyone with any sense will tell you that in order to maintain a reasonable weight regular exercise is essential, but most the kids i know are far more interested in computer games and tv, parents need to teach thier children better about the problems of being overweight. And as for the warming of babies bottles in the microwave we were told by several health professionals that its not a good idea, as microwaves dont heat things evenly so what seems like a fine temperature at first could have a scolding hot patch in the middle.
