7/8 of a pint is obviously less than a pint and just as obviously more than half a pint so it fits in with The National Weights and Measures Laboratory’s thinking.

½ a litre please landlord with a shorter measure of ¼ litre.
Don't tell me JB, I'm the guy that used a Litre stein many moons ago in the Coach and Horses, I like a wee drink in those days

Not that Margaret, but I must admit that I've come close to drinking something very similar out of the pumps, especially down south, Courage, you needed it to drink it

I think any respectable person wouldn't have any alcohol at all before getting behind the controls of any large machine. People don't respect vehicles enough and the damage they can cause and mixing that with something as potentially equally damaging as alcohol is just ridiculous.

I only have one friend who has a car at uni and there is no chance he'd have a drink before getting into his car OR get drunk the night before he has to drive in the car. Thank god that some people are responsible and respect the roads.

The above should earn you 'brownie' points when you apply for a position with local Stasi Govt.
Without a doubt , sentiments like the above and Law degree will qualify you for a local council job earning £60k a year patroling the pubs looking for dog ends in the urinals
