The Crossword must be a bit dodgy Wyn I her that the I before E except after C isn't applicable in Timbuktu

Because you would expect someone to not be able to ride if they can't pay.
You don't expect a bus driver to be racist and threatening to passengers.
He should be sacked.

You would expect someone to show commonsense in both cases.
Whether he should be sacked or not is down to the bus company. I would've thought a sound ticking off and verbal warning would've sufficed.
However, either way, the story is hardly national news.

Re: I'm gobsmacked!
If this bus driver's a racist, how about Bristol City Council? They seem to have caused somewhat of a controversy by advertising a job as 'open to black and ethnic minority graduates'. What would the reaction be if someone advertised a vacancy open to white graduates?

Look, if it makes you feel any better, I will fly anyone's flag given the right incentive, but, just let someone of any colour or creed tell me I can't fly mine when I'm feeling Patriotic, then all that is P.C. about me will go through the window.
Please, Mr. Bus Driver, have tolerance for us natives, we know no better, but at least we put up with,
YOU!

Re: I'm gobsmacked!
Well said Less! GOING to the dogs leeshez, there is no way back! Something caught my eye on facebook the other day, a group named 'how come out flag offends you, but our benefits dont?' kinda sums one or two things up I think.

It ain't "going" to the dogs.. it's already gone
Former minister Christopher Chope told the Commons yesterday that employers and employees should be allowed to "freely negotiate" their own pay.Mr Chope said that ditching the £5.73 an hour minimum rate would help struggling businesses survive and create more jobs. He told the Commons: "Before anyone accuses me of wanting to impose poverty wages, I'm talking about arrangements for freely consenting adults."

Re: I'm gobsmacked!
It's all total rubbish..drive or commute into London this week and you will see England flags everywhere ..I expect it's the same in any part of the country..the press are a disgrace as they try to undermine the real patriotism shown by all of the population.
