ime going soft in my old age..

last week i had a cat caught in my headlights frozen with fear and ready for running over and i stopped and let it cross the road safely

as if that wasnt bad enough tonight coming down union road i had to slow down for somone walking backwards across teh road looking up into the sky oblivious to their surroundings and again i failed to take advantage of such a gift from god

who was this stranger of the night

well lets put it this way if i had put my foot down instead of stopping and allowing this gentleman to cross safely gayle wouldnt have any opposition at the next election lol

Re: ime going soft in my old age..

I was the witness to this strange phenomenon.

On the way there we saw a rat, and then on the way back we saw an even funnier sight scurrying around oblivious.

'Look at that silly pillock.'

As we got closer I screamed with glee as we saw who it was.

The tipsy grin seemed to be wiped off his face as we got closer, and closer.

I think he may have needed a cigarette when he got back up the lane.

Re: ime going soft in my old age..

while i am in the generous mood heres a few reminders

Quote:
The Green Cross Code is a guide for everyone showing you how to cross the road safely.

THINK FIRST

Find the safest place to cross then stop.

If possible cross the road at:

subways, footbridges, islands, Zebra, Pelican and traffic light crossings, or where there is a police officer, school crossing patrol or traffic warden.

If you can't find any good crossing places like these, choose a place where you can see clearly along the roads in all directions, and where drivers can see you. Never cross on sharp bends or just before the top of a hill.

STOP

Stand on the pavement near the kerb.

Give yourself lots of time to have a good look all round.

Stand a little way back from the kerb – where you will be away from traffic, but where you can still see if anything is coming.

If there is no pavement, stand back from the edge of the road but where you can still see traffic coming.

USE YOUR EYES AND EARS

Look all around for traffic, and listen.

Look in every direction.
Listen carefully because you can sometimes hear traffic before you can see it

WAIT UNTIL IT'S SAFE TO CROSS

If traffic is coming, let it pass.

Do not cross unless there is a safe gap and you are sure there is plenty of time.

If you are not sure, don't cross.

LOOK AND LISTEN

When it's safe, walk straight across the road.

Always walk across, never run.

ARRIVE ALIVE

Keep looking and listening for traffic while you cross.

He looked quite merry dithering about in the middle of the road outside the Black Dog, I thought he was diverting us up New Lane!

Re: ime going soft in my old age..

By the way, I was only witness to this because Chav picked me up and asked me to look for a dog, and if I did he would give me a burger.

I think that's what he said anyhow.
