In A Barrel Landlord

Do any blokes still insist on drinking their beer from a barrel glass or are they now obsolete?Have'nt seen one for ages in a pub, though i suspect some country type pub might still use them.

MOst pubs still have a few and I know some people who do insist.

Having said that I like the glasses that are straight sided witha shoulder 3/4 of the way up, all these curvy ones are like vases to me

I know someone who has his own glass behind the bar at one place.

Used to be common place at most pubs, probably still done at some "local" pubs.

I believe they only make left-handed ones now.

Always used a barrel in the past, but have become more sophisticated now I'm getting older, I'd drink it from a lime fillers clog, never mind a barrel

Re: In A Barrel Landlord

always preferred the barrel glass, though the barrels way back were better cos they only had a "Small Flat" bit at the top of the glass, so was easy to pick up n sup with yer teeth, whilst rolling a fag. always had class.
