Inflation

There's no mention of it anywhere here....It must not be a real problem.

Perhaps everyone is adequately Hedged, and the real Cost of Living is irrelevant to you in day to day operations.

What are the favorite Asset Classes to store wealth, free of Inflationary Erosion? How are Assets Ring-Fenced in Legal structures. What's the tried & true favorite strategy? Ignoring UK Taxation.

Not interested in the sums invested, It doesn't affect me.

It will just be interesting to see the differing views of value & risk.

Re: Inflation

Of course inflation is an issue for everyone.
I do not really understand your question.
Are you asking the best way to make your money work for you?
If you are, and are serious then this is not the place to find out.
If you want that sort of information, then you need to enlist the skills of an independent financial adviser….rather than ask on Accyweb.

Inflation to me means the cost of the items we use daily….and the cost of utilities.
My house insurance has gone up by £80.
Yes I have shopped around and there are some deals which appear slightly cheaper but the cover is less…so not good value in the long run.
The cost of food has gone up….and it is not Brexit that caused this…it is the increased operating costs.
These will no doubt rise even more when the energy prices go up.
And if you were lucky enough to pare down your use of gas and electric…they still have you by the tender parts with the standing charges….which are also going up.
The increase in pensions does not come close to meeting these rises.
If you have any savings then these will not comfort you for long as the interest rates mean you get precious little for saving up.

Re: Inflation

I am expecting a massive hike in inflation but I know I can get through if I spend less than I earn.
I am also expecting the crime rate to soar and the subsequent disorder that brings.
I am expecting the government to impose windfall taxes on profiteering energy suppliers.
I am expecting the war in Ukraine to escalate to other countries.
But I wasn`t expecting to air my thoughts about Forex and derivatives..

Those standing charges are what really rile me more than the cost plus VAT for using an item.
