Re: Inflation Down
Well I might be on my own thinking this but fuel prices are up, which effects all other prices food, deliveries etc. gas and electric has gone up and unless you go shopping for electrical goods everyday you might notice all the prices in the shops and supermarkets are up. A cig cost 32p each now all the beer and spirits are up Ive just got my car tax renewal and thats up by £6 for 6 months...need I go on

Re: Inflation Down
No need to go on ..when you have the staff in local shops saying sorry because of the price hikes on everyday goods which they have to pass on .. anyone with a half bit of wits knows that inflation is alot higher than this government like to admit.

I can see your point now, if you just drink one of them you might feel like you have a bit more money

They didn't go up in June either ( our suppliers put their prices up on July 4th ), so a t-shirt and a pint of beer will cost you less , that means the government figures are right

Re: Inflation Down
My sister is currently over from France ( She's lived there ~ 18 years now) and commented that food is much cheaper and public transport horrendously more expensive. Electrical goods appear cheaper but obviously Wine much dearer(although beer is similar).
IMHO some prices have gone up but some have dropped, electricals are always a hard point to use in discussion of inflation as from one year to the next due to teh fact that teh prices stay teh same but you just get more for your money... e.g. TVs are still around 2-500 quid, but you now get Full HD, LCDs with internet access etc built in where as 10 years ago the prices were similar but you were probably getting a old style CRT.... ditto PCs, prices stay stable, specs go up.
