Re: Iran to release British Sailors
So the ragheads have their rare moment of totaly uncalled for glory, the tinpot midget that rules the dump is welcome to his open sewer, one thing that did amuse me was when the English speaking journalist asked the nutter a question he replied as fast as a sub machine gun, in Arabic without a moments thought. I wish their relatives would stop a----ing with the press and just shut up, till the real truth comes out, as it will at a price. Yes I know the have interpretation machines, before anyone states the obvious.

Re: Iran to release British Sailors
A couple of things strike me about the whole situation...firstly, all this would never have happened if the Dear Leader's attempts at self-glorification hadn't involved us in this disastrous war in Iraq. Secondly, we may have come out of the whole situation better if we had a foreign secretary with a certain amount of gravitas, instead of a drab little nonentity who would be better suited as an assistant librarian or post office clerk.

Re: Iran to release British Sailors
Did anyone notice those gray suits the Iranians provided for the marines and sailors? They reminded me of the stuff that Garinda used to sell in his clothes shop in London. I wondered where he had got rid of it all.

Wynonie Harris,
Post 9 - Quite. The woman is ghastly. I understand from a report I read some time ago that she is a metallurgist by background and was said to be rather quiet at University and clearly she is not cut out for negotiating with heads of state on matters of significant importance.

I've still got a jacket in your size, if you'd like to make me an offer.

As regards ministerial incompetence, Margaret Beckett has form. When she was in charge at DEFRA, she instigated an unworkably complex scheme of agricultural payments that has so far cost £500m, £305m of which has been paid by the British taxpayer, to the EU in fines. Only last week a commons committee in a scathing report on the matter suggested that she, amongst others, should have resigned. Instead, she was promoted to foreign secretary. A fitting reflection on this wretched government.
