My brother came over from Yorkshire today and to make sure I was OK he had a big case of Stella for me just in case I was snowed in. Now that's what I call brotherly love.
He told me he had no problems with the snow and he lives up near Lumbutts but had heard we had it bad in Lancashire.

It's not great but it's not as bad as the ice and snow we had last year, I walk up and down Water St every day and this week has been hard going but nowhere near as bad.

It was a bit blizzardlike a few min ago.
In general terms not as bad as last year but this might just be the start of a long cold winter. As for global warming, I just don't buy it. Weather is cyclical, for all anyone knows this could be the new cycle bringing harsher winters for the next 30 years or so.

thing is though linds they said on forecast tonight,be like this fer another 10 days at least, early winter yet, so could end up a real pig.
