James Herbert

Just seen him on a TV interview and he is not at all like I imagined! Isn't it strange when you have an idea in your head of what someone is like and they turn out to be totally different? His new book sounds intriguing and I'm not normally a horror fan.

Re: James Herbert

I was like that with steve wright, for years as a kid I'd listened to him on radio one(when it was worth listyening to) and then was shocked when I eventually did see him that he wasn't anything like I imagined. I'm not sure where the image of how we think somones going to look comes from, because often it doesn't match anyone we know of a similar personality, it's quite a unique appearance.

Re: James Herbert

It's funny. I think I imagined him looking more like a cross between Roger Moore and Dirk Bogarde! Oddly enough he was on when I switched on and I had no idea who he was and at first glance I was expecting him to speak with an Irish accent! Doesn't he look Irish?

Re: James Herbert

I've seen him on the books so knew what he lookd like. Steven king he wasn't what I expected, and was suprised to find out he'd appeared in a lot of the films based on his books.

Ah well there you go, I've not got any of his books, just seen a couple of films and read one book from the library which didn't have a pic on.

Re: James Herbert

He reads his books in the coach when he's taken people to places and has to wait there and then bring them back! I never see his books.

How is he stood like an Irishman?

You mean so the potatoes don't fall down his sleeves?

Ooops.

Is that racist, or sterotypical?

Re: James Herbert

It's stereotypical. Funny thing is though that most of the guys I knew when I was in Ireland used to stand like that when they were talking to each other or me.
