Accybird, please don't ever get a job in customer services, you have not got the knack.
Instead of defending the company, in what I can see are justifiable complaints/queries from Accymad, you should be offering to approach your employers to see if they can improve their business to encourage customers to come back. Tell them to visit the competition to see if they can pick up any tips... sure they do, but doesn't seem to be working.
Re: the shoe thing ... think this was probably done to absolve the company from any blame should they get lost/pilfered from their lockers; not specifically to protect the customer.
You go ahead Accymad .. have your rant on here .. may do some good to keep our residents 'in' rather than going 'out'. Need all our services in Hyndburn to be nop notch !
Hate the 'like it or lump it' attitude.

lol no problem although i would like to say again it wasnt the staff that was the problem it was the lack of effort put into the place by the owners that lets it down and until the owners fork out some money and fix problems rather than sit back and count the money coming in i cant see it improving
i have never worked in a bowling alley but as a customer i would suggest refurbishment of the lanes , replacement of the bowling balls, and seating provided near the enterance so customers arnt walking around in their socks until they find somewhere to sit
edit:
and decent sized pigeon holes to fit 2 adult shoes into

I still can't believe they make you walk around with one shoe? I've never heard of that before.. It's a bit odd (almost literally)

Re: jesus christ has anyone been bowling in accy lately
*LOL*
accy and morcambe are both owned by osprey lesuire - who's directors also own a big building company - *they built the cinema and bowling*
last time i went there i paid 12.50 for the hour - i spent around 10 mins tryna sort the machine out that was dropping pins etc
shud i be grateful? regardless of wether a company is for sale or not it shud still maintain its premises. it does want to be sold so not investing in it doesnt arise.
as for the lanes - polishing them does maintain them but do the lanes honestly suffer any less damage than other bowling alleys? they were put in badly to say the least - and thats comin from an engineer who worked around the back!

I don't think the understand terms like reliability, mean time before breakdown, uptime, time since last production lost and the many other terms that we in the business of keeping our machines running and producing product out the door on time use.
The machines in a bowling ally are simple, don't try and convince us otherwise. I have worked on everything from light switches to machines with robotic arms replacing men and all sorts in between costing millions of pounds. When people report that a lane breaks down several times in the 1 hour they used it then, that is down to poor preventative maintenance programs and even worse reactive breakdown maintenance.
No doubt you will come back and tell me how difficult it is to pick up a few pins and stand them up again. It must be really complex equipment that sends the ball back to the players as well

I always thought they had no discrimination on who runs round the back doing that job, if I find out is a complex equipment then I think they should be reported for only emplying women to do the job

Re: jesus christ has anyone been bowling in accy lately
Ahhhhh can't stand the place. Have been 4 times in past 6 months or so and am constantly back and fourth reporting faults. Its filthy dirty and should be shut down imo.
I was given complementary tickets as an apology for the messing around i had there once, but i never used them, i saw little point as it would just be the same.
When you take children they get so fed up waiting around for people to come and sort out problems it spoils the outing there.
What a an absolute waste of what could be a great resource for Accrington.
