Just a couple of things to inform you
While out and about tonight I noticed 2 things that maybe of interest to members of Accyweb esp the drivers........
Firstly there will be at least 2 very upset non-taxed vehicle owners that will find the big YELLOW DVLA BOOT on their illegal cars as they have been clammped!!!!!
Secondly a warning that there is a speed camera in a big yellow box on a road and this is the 1st time that I can recall this camera being put into use!!!
Not going to name the road so can't get done (if they can do that)

Re: Just a couple of things to inform you
Wouldn't think they would be able to prosecute you for revealing the whereabouts of a speed camera. The Telegraph publishes the locations of the mobile cameras and the sites of the fixed ones are now printed in road atlases.

Re: Just a couple of things to inform you
Well it's a start I suppose, if they next go and clamp the people like the people carrier parked half on the footpath and causing problems every day, at little street, then the others in various places who park overnight on yellow lines or too near to a bend/junction, (this is before they get to the double parking that is prolific, and people not using thier driveways), we may see an improvement in traffic flow around town.

Re: Just a couple of things to inform you
Wasn't there a test case where they tried to prosecute a bloke for putting a speed camera warning sign outside his house. He pointed out that they are "Safety Cameras" and the very warning he had put was giving drivers a warning that they are approaching an area where Safety cameras are deemed necessary. i.e. you put them there because you claim its a blackspot, I'm just warning drivers to be careful. The case was IIRC thrown out.

Re: Just a couple of things to inform you
I thought the whole point of speed cameras was to reduce speed and increase safety. If informing people of the whereabouts of these cameras results in them slowing down then surely that fulfils the purpose.
Don't tell me their real purpose is to raise cash after all.

Re: Just a couple of things to inform you
There was a clamp on a car on Willows lane last night. Not sure if it was a personal one to stop the car being nicked or a government one.

Re: Just a couple of things to inform you
There was a car clamped near the hospital on Whalley road....and also a posh grey sports car on one of the side streets in Clayton,,,,near what used to be the TSB.
The thing about these cars is, that they were probably not insured either.
I know these owners will be upset, but is it fair that the rest of us subsidise their driving?

Re: Just a couple of things to inform you
Probably couldn't afford to insure it.....no insurance = inability to tax the vehicle.
