due to vat cuts and teh government wanting shops to pass on the cuts to us should poundland change its name to 98p land as to pass on the cuts to us they would have to lower the price of goods

yes i realy have nothing else better to think about right now

The admin expenditure to alter all the tills to the new rate in all the shops would be far in excess of the two pence...I think the retailer is quite within his right to mantain his margins....this is no more that a gimmick.

but wouldnt the expense of that be written off in tax atthe end of the tax year ?

I know.....but the extra profit would be taxed anyway.....no winners.
